Organic zinc epoxy primer

Main Features
- It is a coating made from epoxy resins and polyamide, which provides cathodic protection to steel similar to hot-dip galvanizing, leaving 92% zinc in the dry film on the substrate; in addition, it provides prolonged protection in areas contaminated with chemical products due to its permanent neutralizing action.
- GALVANOX II coating by itself is highly resistant to solvents, petroleum, alcohols, and jet fuel. This zinc/organic system provides a degree of protection not obtainable with conventional paint systems. If the topcoat is damaged, the high zinc content protects the steel. In conventional systems, pinhole failures are detrimental, with corrosion appearing at the base of the steel, forming rust blisters and damaging the coating around the area.
- In contrast, zinc corrosion, when zinc is attacked on steel, appears as a light powder that does not damage the film surface at all. These areas can be retouched with periodic maintenance. Once mixed, an induction time of 30 minutes to 1 hour should be allowed.
Applications
This coating is highly recommended for all types of structural steel, in tanks and chemical product containers, transmission towers, port facilities, pipes and supports, platforms, fences, transformers, mill hoppers and warehouses, floating tank covers, cooling towers, equipment and installations exposed to salinity.
