AQUACOAT FC INTUMESCENT

• AQUACOAT FC is a fire barrier for passive protection in metal structures of buildings, warehouses, and storage facilities where protection against direct cellulosic fire is sought.
• AQUACOAT FC forms a sublimating and fireproof intumescent foam layer that acts as an insulator for a period of 1 to 3 hours according to recommended thicknesses, protecting the metal and delaying its fatigue.
• AQUACOAT FC has been tested under relevant standards: ASTM E-119, equivalent to the heating regime standard NMX-C-307-1-ONNCCE-2016 of the CDMX construction regulations (Complementary Technical Standards for Architectural Projects, chapter 4.4: Fire prevention) and similar standards UL 263, NFPA-251, UBC-5101, ANSI A2.1. It is also tested under the guidelines of IMP-GTM-B1 001, 1995.
• NOTE: Due to the chemical nature of this coating, it is not designed to withstand immersion, runoff, or puddles of water, very high humidity areas, or areas partially exposed to the weather, or places that require cleaning with water, as the film softens and peels.
• For interiors where there is no contact with water, a vinyl-acrylic finish is recommended.
• Sealer layers are not necessary in environments classified as ISO 12944-2 C1.
• For interior environments such as those described in ISO12944 corrosive categories up to C3, it should be coated with a polyurethane type finish.

To provide protection against cellulosic fire on beams, columns, and hollow sections, in interior environments in: colleges, schools, hospitals, supermarkets, gyms, shopping centers, cinemas, and wherever this type of protection is required. Cellulosic fire: This is fire that occurs in commercial, public, and residential buildings, caused by the combustion of common materials such as wood, textiles, paper, and plastic, gradually increasing the temperature until it reaches 900°C (1652°F), also known as type A fire.
